    Terry Mac,
...some interesting points there, well as has been said here,,he WAS wrong all last season,,,his runs in the AIG the Martell Hurdle and the punchestown Shell hurdle were DEFFINATELY not his form at all.....and to say hes not a battler like Brave Inca is pure BS, he outbattled Inca in that great second champion hurdle when inca and Harchibald came to take the race from him, he would have won that AIG that Macs Joy won in a 3 way finish with inca and Hardy but Odwyer didnt REALLY go for him as much as he could have...thats prettty obvious if you watch the footage,,,and I have recorded all the major NH races from 1991 till now and have a really nice record to troll through when needs be.....
Inca was not at all having an off day in the AIG Mccoy was adamant he ran exactly to expectencies, and Mccoy had him at hardys shoulder all thru the race,,,again on ground he would prefer much more than Hardy and they jumped the last level,..its all there on camera,,,hardy outbattled him and went away from him pretty easily.....Ive nooo doubts he's the better horse,,,he demolished Roosster Boooster when that grey came to take him in hardys first champion hurdle win, i had him backed at 28/1 couldnt believe all the BS THAT time about his price and how the grey was more or less nailed on....again no doubt in my mind Hardy IS back to himself this year and has proved it over and over again.,,,and as regards the 6 meetings?..3 of those were last season when hardy eustace was NOT right,,,surely yu can see that...
As regards "heard it off so many people many of whome know nothing of horses"?..Im following racing since i was 5 years of old,,,first race ever seen was the 1967 national...have never missed a cheltenham or aintree since then....have worked in major stud,,,uncle and grandfather trained horses...folow nh racing every season...so i know my **** as they say?!....no one knows everything...but i have heard so many gooons mouthing off about brave inca and how tough he is bla bla and basically dismissing Hardy and Macs Joy etc...that i was really delighted to see em well shut up after the AIG, as many (in the Uk anyway) had really only jumped on the McCoy bandwagon since he got to be main partner of Inca.

we'll see what happens this year...but Hardy Eustace has won 2 and keeps turning it on this year...thats good enough for me :)

Whatever about Detroit City I couldn't have Straw Bear in a million years.

I do find it amazing that so many people can confidently oppose Brave Inca this year, he's still the form choice in my book, one slightly substandard performance on poor ground seems to have people dismissing him.

You think he was wrong last season, he may have been but I don't think he was "wrong". Dessie's only said that this season, thats why I'm not taking his word for it. One bad run in the AIG, he may not have been sharp for the Champion, but Dessie kept him ticking over till punchestown and he ran to the same form. Pretty solid form last year as being 5L off the top two, as I say if thats wrong, and he's right this season, i'll be expecting him to win by a few furlongs. He hadn't ideal prep last season, and probably wasn't the sharpest, but he wasn't running way below form.

Being tough is hard to gauge in a horse. If your a good horse and not a Harchibald, you just get labelled tough. I don't think every good horse is "a gutsy tough horse" like all their trainers say. He didn't have to do much battling to beat Harchi and if Brave Inca had a top jock he would have won that race, so I don't put that one down as a tough performance. I was very impressed with Hardy in recent AIG and maybe Brave has begun to sour, but I don't think that match has been settled.

I too fancy DC and Straw Bear to finish ahead of the Irish btw,off a really fast pace.

I can't have Straw Bear winning at all and I'd be surprised if he placed. I think it's clear that McCoy would like to get off him to ride Brave Inca if he can.

    My banker: Black Jack Ketchum
    Bismarck: Detroit City

i wont be backing straw bear but he is in there on form and definatly has a shout along with another few -did mcCoy say somewhere that he wanted to get off ? if he did that would be badform -mcmanus has in the past released jockeys to ride other horses but he would be stone mad to release mcCoy ,but its prob stupid even talking about it cause it wont happen-
should be interesting come tuesday week as between the lot of us we fancie everything in the race well at least the first six anyway -cant wait

McCoy never explicitly said he wanted to get off Straw Bear but I remember he hinted at it before. Can't find it in writing though. Although I agree that McManus would be mad to release McCoy.
