Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I downloaded this program last night. I'm able to stream my audio files from my laptop to the xbox, but when I try to play my video files I get the following error:

"The Connection the the computer was lost. Make sure your computer is turned on, connected to your network, and is running media sharing software. Status code: 53-04-80070015"

This happens with all movies, regardless of the codecs each uses (I've tried divx3, xvid and mkv files).

Any ideas how to fix this?

I've tried downloading FFDShow, the latest version of TVersity and the Xbox patch to no avail.

It wouldn't be a firewall or anything would it?

Had fun with this myself when I got started off:

    First things first.

    1. Uninstall Tversity and any codec's etc.
    2. Upgrade to Media Player 11
    3. Turn your Xbox on and go into Media player on your pc and give the Xbox access to your PC in the Media Sharing menu.
    4. Then install Tversity
    5. The install FFD Show and any other codec's
    6. Make sure you give "media server.exe" access to your firewall. Its best to just use the windows firewall and nothing else.

If this doesn't work , give me a shout.

I have WMP11 and have access to all my files that are on TVersitys server. I can access photos and stream mp3s, but I cant play the movies. I've opened up the ports on my router/firewall and have given access to all the required exes. I'll try uninstalling the software and my codec packs later on and just reinstall TVersity, the oatch and FFDShow.

Can anyone explain what FFDShow actually does? Does it contain all the codecs required for 360 playback.

I have used TVersity with success however the quality of xvids and divx is so appalling after TVersity encodes it to play on an xbox it is not even worth watching :(

I tried a little "What if" this evening after reading the last post. I just plugged my lappy straight into my tv with a vga cable and the pic is fantastic, I think I'll sell my 360 now :D

Quality is only as bad as you set it.. there are options within TVersity to
    tweak the output resolution.
    Have a look on http://forums.tversity.com/viewforum.php?f=24
if you are unsure how to change the defauly settings
    .
By tweaking the settings I am able to achieve quality that is on par
with DVD playback. (Obviously the quality and resolution of your source
    material will have an impact).

With regards to the connection dropping whilst trandscoding video
and yet streaming music works fine. It may be that your laptop
is dropping the connection to your home network if it's low on resources
    - it's a heavy system drain to transcode video on the fly. I've noticed
some laptops will drop network connections if low on memory or processor.

If you are using a wireless connection on the laptop it's even more likely.
Try using a lan cable and disable the laptop wifi and see if it makes a
difference. Failing that tray adjusting the video quality of the output file,
you should be able to achieve a balance between video quality and not
    dropping network connections.

I use my laptop to stream divx and xvid to my 360 without any problem
and it works now without any problems - and i watch 8-10 hours of video
    this way each week.

Hang in there, check the tversity forum for support as getting past the
initial teething and tweaking problems will make it worthwhile.
