Smelly motor in Kenwood processor

Anyone here familiar with motors used in food processors. We have a four year old Kenwood FP580 that has had little use, but just recently is smelling i.e. something wrong with the motor...... Should I just dump it and replace ? Any things I could try....? Cheers Redman
