Back to the unfortunate doom and gloom for all for the foreseeable future.
Not as bad as November and December in terms of wind but keep the water proofs handy.

No sign of late winter cold coming but "March of many weathers" might spring a winter surprise.

Two paddys days ago got to 18c here in Dublin while last year it struggled to reach 4c with some sleet and snow.Lately March has thrown us all sorts and is one of the most interesting months of the year.
Snowstorms, convective storms, warm spells, cold spells on a bigger scale has been evident in March.

Just got back from Florida. We boarded the connecting flight in Chicago at 7pm last night. Feckin flight didn't depart until 5 hours later!

It had just started snowing when we boarded at -1 degrees c. Blizzard conditions for about about 3 hours. Then amazingly it started lashing rain and temp rose to plus 2. This cleared all the snow.

Just goes to show you that they get that sleety crap there too - and in February too!

Ssh, don't mention snow, we may eagerly bite any chance of it occurring, only to fall harder this time when it doesn't happen, again..

The last two weeks must be the most boring ever, weather wise and activity wise. Just one big plain ol cloud covering the sky constantly, not much even in the way of a decent bout of rain to stir things up a bit (granted there has been the odd drizzle). Only got a decent camera a week ago, and not one one sunrise or sunset, or interesting weather to take pics of... So bored now, i haven't ventured outside at the weekends at all.

It's not all boring tonight. Was just sitting at my laptop beside a small window and was distracted by a flash outside. I thought i was imagining it or that it was the dart or something but i opened the window and heard the thunder it was a fair way off though i think because the thunder was a good 10-15 seconds after the flash and it was very weak. No idea where it came from though. It's not showing up on any lightning detectors? although having about one day with thunder and lightning a year doesn't exactly give me much time to check their accuracy

Well speaking of detectors,i hope to have mine back up and running soon in time for the April downpours and hopefully a few storms this coming summer.

I'm totally amazed at how quiet it gets in here after the threat of snow subsides.

Yes, even though there's a massive storm building that will give easterly gales for a while on Sunday, it's been a while since we've had that, although after this years winter i'd say everyone is well and truly fed up with storms

Looks like some severe winds for the west but recent charts have spared a more countrywide affair, still some scope for 100mile movement of center.

Gusts to 90mph for the west and southwest very Likely, sustained winds to 55/60mph
