Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi.

When I try to connect to Xbox live for the first time it says that I need to download an update first, but when I go to download, it says theres no connection but when I run the test, it says everything is connected.

    Whats going wrong? Thanks.

Try changing your firewall settings on your PC

Are you using Eircom BB and a Netopa router/modem?

You need to turn your modem firewall filter to low or off. Go to http://192.168.1.1 or http://localhost and I think that should bring up your modem. If neither of those work then find out what ip opens up those netopia modems so you can change the settings. Then change firewall settings

copy and paste this address into your web browser http://192.168.1.254/ - this will bring up your modem settings

click on expert mode (on left had side of screen) and click 'yes' to enter

click on configure and then connection (on left hand side of screen)

go to bottom of page and you will see UPnP with a green arrow ticked - untick this - i.e turn this setting off

click save changes and restart your modem - now it will allow other devices such as an xbox to use your broadband connection
