Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

3 out of 6 think United will draw with Fulham tomorrow, just wondering why? Considering last week they got killed, we beat them 5-1 in the opposite fixture, and are missing Montella.

Reading have won their last 5/6 games and are on a run, Midd are doing ok too, but not as consistant. I have Sidwell as my captain for the weekend fantasy league team, what ye think. Was debating between him an Ronaldo for my captain.

Rooney created the goal from a Volz mistake, a fine assist it was too. I fancy United to go on and win this now.

Have to hand it to United. Extraordinary how many times this season they've played relatively poorly (the Lille and Fulham performances typical examples), yet almost always they manage to get the win.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Steady on they've got plenty of time to loose!

There you go. United píssed on all day, then come up with a late winner out of the blue. Amazing stuff from the Red Devils.

    United get out of jail.
They were atrocious today,Fulham could have scored 5 but for the woodwork and Van der Sar.
2 woeful away performances by United this week but Ronaldos goal could be the goal that wins the Premiership.
United are doing now what Chelsea were masters of ,playing poorly and winning.;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,905 ✭✭✭bucks73

Got lucky today but thats the sign of a good team...play poorly and win. Fulham might moan about a peno but Diop should definitely have got a second yellow.

All that counts is the 3 points.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,604 ✭✭✭herbieflowers

Damn straight, playing badly and winning...reminiscent of the 95-6 season, all those one goal wins...could be the decisive result of the season!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 715 ✭✭✭justfortherecor

Played the Get out of Jail card today, thats for sure.

United were very disjointed. Defence were very shaky, especially dealing with the long goal-kicks from Fulham keeper.

If United didnt get the 3 points today, it would have put a huge amount of pressure on them ahead of next weeks trip to Anfield.

Massive Result, the march towards the title continues!!

Liverpool 2-0 up. 2 Robbie FOwler penos.

How stupid was the defender for the first peno. Gerrard stood with his hands in the air with the ref watchign about 5 yards away, yet the gob****e grabs a hold of him , I bet Gerrard couldnt believe his luck that a defender would be stupid enough to do that.

Well if you sign Upson, Boa Morte and Lucas Neill to try and keep you up in a relegation dogfight you know you're in trouble.

The Charlton - West Ham match is actually more than a 6 pointer. :) West Ham are +3 goals ahead of Charlton in GD. If it stays like this Charlton will be +3 ahead of West Ham. Could be crucial.

Class! How many chances does Fowler need to score a goal ;)

I thought the new boy grew into the game and looks a good buy (whatever he actualy cost). Nice to see Hyypia get his regulation goal for the season too.

    Mike.

Was a nice first match for Mascherano to come into, not too hectic. Agree with Mike, he grew into it, did a lot of running and looked like he enjoyed being back out in a match situation again. His controlling of the game looked promising, with being able to turn and change his passing direction. Made a few misplaced passes alright, but nothing too disastrous against this opposition, and something to be expected after that long without a game.

Delighted for Pardew, "hammering" another nail in west ham's coffin. Just goes to show who the better motivator is, which is what you really need in a relegation dogfight.

Hmmm 3 of us were nearly right in fairness.

Mascherano had a decent enough performance considering the amount of football he has played this season.

now, if you could just do it for all the matches, then youre a shoe in for the pools :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

    Indeed :)

What a shocking performance from United's defence and central midfield yesterday, utterly shocking. Rooney and Larrson werent' up to much either, although Rooney wasn't bad.
Ronaldo and Giggs were very good yesterday, Ronaldo without a doubt the MOM with some very very good runs in the first half, really Uniteds biggest threat the whole game without even playing close to his best.
VDS made up for his mistake earlier on.

Vidic and Rio just went to absolute ****e last night, they just couldn't deal with the long bouncing ball. Fergie had to bring on Slyvestre to deal with it, which just says it all.

Ronaldo's goal was just incredible, I danced around my room for about 3 minutes, that was until we gave away a clear cut peno :P

Toughest game of the season for United, but the important thing is we came through it. It seems like we are unbeatable in the league at the moment.
If we do beat Liverpool, I don't think anyone will think the league isn't ours.

The way the relegation battle is looking,
Any 3 of the bottom 5 could easily go down.
Sheff Utd have a series of games which are horrid, they are basically against the top teams in the premiership and then 3 six pointers. I could really see them going down.
I kinda want to see West Ham go down because of the way they treated Pardew, I said at the time that I didn't think Curbs was much better, and to be honest, he doesn't seem like he is going to be able to keep West Ham up, despite the money he has been given, they just can't seem to get it right.
