I agree with L31mr0d insofar as the upcoming generation alright.. not exactly inspiring it has to be said in a lot of cases!

Still that said, I know lots of nice, very attractive, Irish women - although it's also true that most of them have already been snapped up alright.

I've tried the whole thing of dating European girls (used to work in a multinational where there was a more than ample supply!) but I have to say I prefer our own girls, which is nothing to do with being racist (before someone throws that in), just that I think I've a lot more in common with them, same sense of humor, same understanding of Irish terms/slang, no language barrier etc.

(So.. any nice, decent, attractive Irish women out there, send PM's to... )

But seriously, in general I think overall it's a good thing that Irish women aren't the repressed, future housewives and mothers only, individuals they were not even that long ago. I personally love a woman who's not afraid to be herself as it were.. the "problems" people are referring to, are where they don't know their limits (where alcohol is involved) or where the parents didn't give a toss/weren't around enough when they were growing up.

There's also the "pack" mentality where people lose the run of themselves in a group, whether that be to impress their mates or whatever - but, as the girls have pointed out, the same can be true of Irish guys as well!

(Right that was far too serious for this hour of the morning.. I'm off for brekkie! )

You girls pretend you want one thing and then decide you want another. Also, whats with trying to change someone on a fundamental level? Guys very really go into a relationship and then after a few months start stopping you doing all the stuff you used to do before (stuff we don't approve of or like) and stop you seeing all the people you used to hang out with (people we don't approve of or like) and so on. But yes you guys have a tendency to try and work that the other way.

Seriosly, I dont understand wemon and for some strange reason I'll keep trying and will probably eventually reach a happy medium or blow my brains out.

This is exactly what i'm saying, I know a lot of nice Irish woman, but they are either in long term relationships, married or have moved abroad and they are all in their mid to late 20's.

I also agree with Dara, that men are simple creatures, and we want simple women. I know a lot of women from other countries that this attitude of both partners working themselves into the ground and spending the better part of their relationship concerned more with their careers than each other is not accepted. The institution of the man providing the food and shelter and the woman looking after the children and the home has existed since the beginning of civilization and has worked, yet now in the last few generations women now want to be men, and would you look, divorce rates are sky rocketing, STDs are through the roof and infidelity is accepted as the norm.

What is funny though is that most men would be happy for their wife to stay at home and for them to provide for them. Yet I know of NO woman that would want to provide for their husband if he wanted to stay at home.

The OP isn't trolling, but plenty of people on this thread are. The OP's opinion is frankly that of a sexually frustrated mid-teen whose advances have been rejected. There is a startling double standard on boards when it comes to the predominantly male user base and their opinions of women. If I didn't know better I'd think Ireland was a muslim country - a bunch of sexually experimental, repressed youths who want to marry virgins. pfft, there is no way Im going to leave my future wife just sit at home, she will be off out in an office working I tell my fiancee this every so often, if anyone is going to stay at home playing with kids and cooking all day its going to be me (but then by that stage we hope to be living in China and I will be doing private english lessons at home).


For reference, my fiancee is almost finished her second Batchelors degree and plans on doing a masters later, so she is way smarter than me*
