    Hey,

I want to write to a file in java. The file will be call .prog-config and will be stored in the user's home directory. I was wondering is there a way to get the user's home folder through something like System.getProperty("home") or whatever? I'm most interested in getting the user's home directory in linux although getting it in Windows would be useful as well.

    Thanks,
    bman

    System.getProperty("user.home") should do the trick.
