A bit of a stupid question as i'm a technophobe but I'm trying to connect my laptop to the wireless internet in my new flat and the wireless connection icon on my taskbar has disappeared and I have no way of viewing wireless networks. Also when I go to view network connections I get a blank page. Anyone any idea how I can get it back?

Blank as in nothing at all? That means either the wireless card is dissabled/not installed or that your network connections services is not started.

Usually you have to switch on the wireless, either by using a button or some keyboard combination. Look on your keyboard for a symbol that looks like wireless.

No that just turns on/off the radio. The adapter itself is always still enabled so would still show the icon and still have a network connections icon too.

Well if network connections shows no network cards, then you ain't gonna' get connected to a networ.

Check device manager - right-click on My Computer->Manage->Device Manager. Check for network adapters and see if there are any question marks or exclamation marks.

Ask your neighbour has he paid his broadband bill? explain the situation to him. Ask if he has a new password he will give you.. Open all windows in the house...Remember to turn the computer on first.. otherwise they dont work.;)
