Hoax email or not, date rape pills are a major issue in pubs/clubs around the country. I know one or 2 people personally who have been affected by these on nights out. All the better if an email like this causes panic, it's better than people being ignorant as to whats happening, and falling foul of it.

Bottom line (according to these two experts) was that these pills (e.g., rohypnol) are totally unnecessary, because drink is already doing that job. Someone with a bit of sense at last. There hasn't been a single confirmed case of 'drug rape' in Ireland IIRC, yet you constantly hear of people who were *definitely* drugged - usually after 15 - 20 drinks I'd wager.

I was just about to post that dublinario. There hasnt been ANY case were date rape drugs have be found to have been used......EVER.
Ad to that the fact that rohypnol contains a dye that will turn your drink a dark blue/black color when its put in one, who'd drink it?

Its so stupid. I've heard it over and over from mothers who say oh, my daughters drink was spiked last night. she was very ill when she woke up having arrived home at like 4am and she couldnt remember much.

Guys, the simple fact is that there are drugs out there that will knock people for six, the main one is being sold over the bar! Having worked in the industry for a long time I am often disgusted at the state that people get themselves into. Just this Saturday night while on the door a girl on her own staggered past at about half one I the morning. Myself and the guy I was working with asked her did she want us to call her a taxi and told her she could wait for it just at the door ( no way was she getting inside as she was a definite puker! ) , that if we called her one it would be there within five minutes.

She politely told us to go and **** ourselves and continued on her merry stagger. Would it be nice to think that people can go for a drunken aimless wander in safety? Sure it would. Is it realistic however? Not at all.

Ive traced a few back to the original sender/creator and of the 7 or so chain mails, they were all started by kids aged 12-14 using text speak on their bebo/myspace profiles.

It was pages like those that made me sad to think these people will one day be adults, sweet raptor jesus have mercy on us.
