Will be hosting a Lan party with 15 people in a couple of weeks her in New Zealand.

What are good Lan Party games?

• Gulf Of Oman (Infantry only - 16 map size)

(Infantry only - 3 rounds per map)

Wake Island (Air battle - Jets, Heli, etc...) Set tickets to 1000, hours of fun.

Red Alert 2 is a good choice, but I find it ends too fast! lol, and you can only have 8 playing at once. Unless it's changed since I've last played it :P

How long will you be playing? What spec are the machines? I'll add Call of Duty2 into the mix. It will play on most reasonable spec'd machines and also low ones using DX7 insted of DX9. Too many games can work out worse as people always have their favourites. We always stick to one or two to save arguments and time as there's always a few with no games/patches installed. You can waste a good hour or more sorting people out.

The specs of machine will probably be very varied - thats why playing CS 1.6 and not source and also playing starcraft and red alert2.

Company of heroes will probably be the only really high spec game!

Was thinking of using call of duty 1 instead of 2 and 1942: Desert combat.

Never played fallout! might look into it.

want to have a stable but varied choice so that people don't get bored and also so that they will be easy to install.

Can't beat Half Life and Half Life 2 for some quick insane deathmatches. I'd recommend Bootcamp, crossfire and doublecross on Half-life 1.

Also try the free HL2 mod the hidden. Excellent fun at a lan. One person is the hidden who is invisible (like predator), really fast but only armed with grenades and melee weapons. Everybody else are marines. Great fun in short bursts.

If you're going to install BF1942, get Desert Combat. Makes a good thing even better.

You should consider DoTA instead of one of the RTS.

Its far easier to get into for people who arent very good at the micro element of RTS and its still warcraft3-ish enough to satisfy the rts crowd:)
