Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Modified Drivers Continue to Set The Pace as Superstars Falter
Another day of attrition for the Supercar drivers at round two has propelled modified class competitors Michael Coyne and Davy Francis to the top of the Motorsport Ireland National Rallycross Championship as the series heads for the Carlow Car Club's round three at Mondello Park this Sunday.

The growing modified ranks are improving all the time in terms of numbers and performance and when the weather is dry the less powerful two wheel drive machines are now not far off the speed of the normally championship topping Supercars. Francis and Coyne have filled the second and third positions at the first two events with just one Supercar surviving to finish ahead of them at each event. The Escort and Nova of Francis and Coyne now hold the joint lead in the overall championship with Lawerence Gibson and Derek Jobb best of the Division 1 drivers with a win and a non-finish each.

This Sunday will see Dermot Carnegie looking for his first Superfinal appearance of the year as he continues to drive George Tracey's Metro 6R4. Tracey will also be looking for his first points as he returns to the wheel of his new Peugeot 307WRC. Lawerence Gibson and Tommy Graham make up the remainder of the small Supercar entry.

For the third event in a row the modified class entry is growing with numbers up to twenty six cars, outstripping 'Stockhatch' for the first time since the introduction of that budget class. Coyne and Francis continue to lead the way here but the racing is extremely close and any one of half a dozen drivers could take the win if either of these two falter.

After a day of carnage in the Stockhatch division two weeks ago the class has been severely depleted for this weekend with the entry dropping below twenty cars for the first time since its introduction. The Rallycar and Junior classes are on a roll however with new drivers appearing in both and the Junior class reaching eight entries in only its third ever event.
