    Hi all,

I've squared it with Daveirl and received his blessing to make this post re Free happenings scheduled for Triskel.

This coming Sunday at 3.00pm sees a public experiment in improvised theatre presented by the "Theatre Makers" working actors workshop. ............... slightly "off-the-wall" but hilarious. Everyone welcome.

Of course, the David Hockney exhibition of lithographs based on the Grimm Brothers fairly tales is currently running until March 17th at the centre.

Further updates to follow as dates etc are confirmed.

    Regards,
    Jack C.

    Hi,
just to mention that the World Book Fest is kicking off this Saturday, and will continue over the weekend.

Taking place in Triskel, Bish Lucey Park, and in a marquee on Grand Parade, it will feature readings etc from world-class writers ( John Banville, Lemn Sissay, Rui Zink etc etc.) There will be a childrens programme 11am-12am whilst the main Fest will be officially opened by our own Micheal Martin T.D. at 12 noon.

At 4.00pm in Triskel, RTE reporter Richard Downes will be reading from his book "In Search of Iraq". A Quest/Answ session chaired by Irish Examiner's political correspondent Harry McGee will follow.

In conjunction with the Book Fest will be "DA BEATZ" -- a Youth "Street Culture" celebration comprising young DJ's, rappers, singers, producers, breakdancers and graffiti artists. Live performances from Hip-Hop artists "The Lung Donors" and "Rhythm Rebelz Breakin' Crew".

Decent quality food stalls in the Park during the course of the day.

For anyone thinking of drifting in, the full programme listing is available on www.triskelart.com

Fingers crossed the rain stays away.

Thanks for your reading of this. And have a nice weekend whatever you decide to do.

Wow, the amount of people that turned up at that event on Saturday was AMAZING!! thousands!! Suas and Concern ran it, if anyone wants to know more about the rest of the events in Cork over the next fortnight, they can visit http://www.suas.ie/building-unity-through-diversity.html or for a news story about Saturday and the thousands of people that turned up go to here

There were about 60 family portraits taken for the Family Album of Cork and they will be up on buildingunity.eu in the next fortnight.

The family portraits and stories from all over the globe will be in Fitzgerald park for another 3 weeks or so.
