Hi, would anybody know of anybody who has a wood thicknesser for a piece of wood 800mm wide for a 1inch thick board in the dublin/wicklow area?
    thanks

    Hi,

You would be better to post this in the " Woodcraft" forum, where you will get any help you need. Personally I would be more inclined to use far narrow boards, finish machine them first, and then join and sand.

    See you over there

Ya I would definatly go with what Kadman suggests. It's a lot more stable and will suffer a lot less from warping

thanks for that, normally we would go with thinner boards (espeically since our experiences with making a beech kitchen counter - looks fantastic but what a fight!), but have we've managed to find an 800mm by approx. 2m wide piece of sapelle (species of mahogany) that when finished should look fantastic as a table top, so very reluctant to chop it up. will try the wood craft-ers
