Question about configuring DHCP for this scenario:

Router 1 (4 port, and wireless) will have the broadband connected, there's a couple computers connected to it directly.
There is another lan cable stretching to a chalet out the back.
Router 2 will be on the end of that cable, and it too has 4 ports and wireless.
I'm not sure what i have to do with the DHCP so that people connecting wirelessly to Router 2 can do that, and can see the other computers on the network and don't run into an IP conflict.

    Any suggestions?

Disable DHCP on router 2 and let the clients get their IP from router 1, you really only want to use router 2 for its switching capabilities now (no routing required as the clients outback will be on the same subnet.)

As long as you can connect the two routers together you should be fine. Most new routers now will auto detect the cable type and adjust the interface to suit, so you shouldn't have to worry about cable type etc.

What azzeretti said. Plug the link cable into a LAN port on router2 - do not use the WAN port (if present) on router2 for anything.
