Can you have a people's clinic or health forum where people can both post anonomously and also provide feedback on health quandries/issues?

Probably not because well, see here. That is from Personal Issues, the same applies across boards.

Really? Even if the admins put in a legal disclaimer? Is this an Irish law? Why on other boards like rollercoaster and irishhealth.com people are always giving each other medical advice?

As long as no one is prescribing medicine and that others take advice knowingly at their own risk, how vulnerable are the administrators?

Cant you call it alternative health? GPs arent qualified to administer that.

A legal minefield tbh and simply not worth the hassle that it could potentially cause.

An online legal disclaimer IS worth the paper its written on. :)

If you put a sign saying "enter this pub at your own risk" you can still sue them if you trip over a step etc.

No, we like to tie ourselves up in redtape for fun! :) *

Unfortunately it is Irish law, hopefully it will be changing sometime in the near future but I dont think they will change it enough to allow medical advice to be dispense (nor do I personally think they should really.... it seems highly questionable!)

Why on other boards like rollercoaster and irishhealth.com people are always giving each other medical advice?

Because they dont understand the law and havent been sued yet.

Utterly. "My little Sean read the internet where someone told him to swallow razorblades to make his dick bigger and now he's dead and I'm suing the publishers of that information... the website".... Sound likely? Would the Times print such medical advice? Websites are likely to be considered the same... you may have noticed we're attempting to do something about that. :)

You can call it "Mom's down-home cures-what-ails-ya elixir recipes" for all it matters. It wont circumnavigate the law.

    DeV.

    * Actually Vexorg does but thats another story....

Check out the long term illness forum. If you have a particular complaint, you can bitch about it on there, tho no medical advise is given or allowed, due to what dev said ;)
