Does anyone know of any stay@home dad groups in Dublin or any other dads who live on the Northside who fancy meeting up. Currently looking after 3 year old daughter and one year old son and need to find some decent male company as most of my daughter' s friend's mothers are driving me mad!

This is not necessarily a male problem... I have the same issue. At the mother toddler group we used to go to, the women would talk, and all i'd hear was:

    "Buk, buk, buk bukawk!!"

Its hard to make friends when most of the people in your peer group either bore the crap out of you, or irritate you till you want to throw them corn...

The inane chatter about eastenders and Hello! magazine arrgghh the horrors.
I reckon the peroxide in the hair dye rots thier brains...

It can be rough when you are at home with your little one and you do crave converstaion that is not about Dora the Expolerer and why the walls are decorated and don't need to be redone in crayon.

There was a mens group that ran out of ballymun but I dont' know if it is still active :(

MANFRIDAY, I think you might have got the wrong end of the stick. The OP never mentioned wanting to join a father's rights goup, but rather a stay-at-home dad's group (where he can interact with other fathers and socialise a bit while minding the kids, I'd imagine?) which is completely different.

OP, sorry, I don't have a clue, and there's nothing that I can see online about it. Best of luck though.

I hate doing this but Im a journalism student from DCU and am doing an article on stay at home dads and partially at home dads too. I would Love to interview you for it. Not in person of course but I thought over the phone perhaps. It wouldnt go on too long either! I have interviewed a couple of people already but none of them stayed at home full time. Anyway i just had to ask. my email address is arlenecrilly@gmail.com.
    Thanks

Boomtastic, I don't have any info myself, but do you know the site rollercoaster.ie - a great parenting site - it has a very good Stay At Home Parents forum and I think there are some Dads on there, someone there might be able to give you more info on dads' groups. HTH.

Don't know how you do it man. Had to stay at home wiht kids a few times when they were sick and nearly went mental. I love them to bits but the lack of Adult conversation and interaction drove me mad.
Maybe that's why the mother + toddler groups have innane conversation. Inane conversation is better than nothing. Couldn't be a full time stay at home dad so you have my admiration.
