    Rehearsed my lines
    For curtin call
    A role to play
    Before my fall

    From grace this day
    In one pair eyes
    An audience was he
    That gave a sigh

    As he left his seat
    And me on stage
    A painted face
    He would gage

    As acting poor
    His interest lost
    Like ticket stub
    Crushed and tossed

    At playhouse door
    It fell to ground
    Resembled me
    No longer sound

    To play my part
    For him to see
    Now closing night
    And no more me
