Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi All,
we have sourced an 800mm wide board of Sapelle timber & think it would be excellent as a table top. Just wondering if anybody knows of a shop that would have a thicknesser for this kind of board or a drum sander should probably work either. preferably in the wicklow/dublin area.
    thanks!

You would need to have a good understanding of solid furniture construction in order to use that width of top for a table, so if you have any doubts please ask. Any decent joinery should have a wide drumsander that should do the job for you,

How thick it that board? Could you not cut it up into strips 100mm wide and glue it all back together with the end grain alternating.

The growth rings facing up, growth rings facing down, growth rings facing up, growth rings facing down etc. until you have the full width of the board. It will provide way more stability and it will less likely to warp than a board 800mm wide as it is at the moment.
