Hiya,
I've recently moved over to Ireland and i'm looking for work!

I can teach dance music production from the ground up and i have about 15 years experience with electronic instruments.

I have fully spec'd studio with all the latest vsti and essentials for making dance music and a track record of teaching trance and most other styles.

I am personally responsible for Binary Finarys' 1998 smash and have an ear for a good tune - www.binary-finary.com

I offer impartial advice, no-bull**** approach to get you to your absolute best as quickly as possible - music theory is taught in a hands on way that is useful from day 1.

I'm the 'Matt' part of '1998' / Binary. I basically made the prog while i was working down in a music shop in portsmouth UK... There's a lot of history with binary all over the net about the reason for the lack of material in the past so i won't drag it out here!

I come from a guitarist background that led to me creating '1998', a bit of theory involved and it was made in 30mins with a second day of arranging and sorting sounds...

Enniscorthy is nice and quiet - but i can travel - I do come out of my cave ;P

But seriously - if there are people over here that could use my help/guidence then i'm game.

Nope, you have to write a tune - get over excited and sign your writes away to a small record label (to cut a long story short)

I did just come to the end of years of legal wrangling and fate has planted me in Ireland with enough to get back on track writing/producing - so i escaped my first time in the music industry with a 6 year scar (won't be doing that again!) - all because i didn't get a contract looked over by a decent laywer... retrospect, such a wonderful thing

Dublin is a bit too expensive for people that can even afford to live in monte carlo i think

Enniscorthy is lovely.. especially sat in front of my event monitors - i can close my eyes and be anywhere

as a matter of interest what kinda of hardware / software will u be swotting people up on?
Is is still trance your producing?

The best thing to learn in for beginners would be Propellerheads Reason http://www.propellerheads.se/ - basically because the files are tiny which enable people to work together on projects quickly and it's easy to learn.

We could say fruity loops etc... but i stick with reason as it teaches much more about the hardware you would be likely to encounter and runs well in a live situation (even Nuendo would not let you drop in instruments live and tear your setup apart like Reason can)

It also means i can teach from a distance - I can study the progression of the student and direct the next course of action just from hearing the rookie errors people make when getting into this stuff.

Reason has lots to offer and loads of secret tips to make it really kick and sound professional enough to fool A+R people or punters that it has been mastered/finished off...

For intermediate people i recommend any steinberg sequencer and the vst route - more bang for your buck.

Keeping things simple is a must !

I personally use reason, nuendo, tc powercore, duende, event sp8 monitors and the spectrasonics vsti... nexus and vanguard also... all this extra stuff is to take it to a level where i can make it shine and master other music with some decent tools.

I used to be in blues, heavy metal, rock, psychobilly and jamming bands doing guitar/bass/drums/vocals and write just about anything.

Trance was the thing for the 90s (and i still write trance), but also let my creativity go mad and do what ever i feel like.

Not a bad tune at all this coming from someone like myself who doesn't really like trance except for (old skool early 1990's trance) get it together mate whatever you want to do probably best coming to Dublin, best of luck anyway.:)

As a matter of curiosity, if you were to appear at something, like say the opening of a club, can you use the name Binary Finary? Did you get that out of it?

Myself and Stuart are 'Binary Finary' - the name was never contested orginally and is my intellectual property (i invented the phrase) - the legal wrangle was over the '1998' peice - (which is totaly Binarys property now)

I suppose if i were to appear on my own (which should'nt happen!) i would would ask for Matt Laws of Binary Finary as the act is essentially myself and Stuart and the music is both of our creation.
