Are you planning on keeping the car long? A spoiler will be expensive to source, paint and fit. Additionally, the car may well be worth less with the spoiler than without.

keltoms, spraying it could be pretty expensive, and hard to get quotes on. If you are looking at an OEM spoiler, then check out www.mstyle.co.uk. If you check out their "paint and fit price", that's what they'll charge you to paint and ship it (instead of fitting obviously).

I can recommend www.ACcarsales.com on the SCR to fit it - the boot will probably have to be drilled, unless it's one of those newer boot lip spoilers, which are just stuck on with 3M glue. AC may also be able to source and spray the spoiler for you. I just got M3 replica mirrors put on my saloon, and the colour match was excellent.

There's lots of e36 drivers on this Irish forum: www.bmw-driver.net/forum if you want to ask there as well.

I like the boot lip spoilers personally, nice and subtle and don't require any drilling to the boot lid. AC specialise in BMWs so should be able to source it for you one way or the other - if they're available for the E36.

I've seen a good few on eBay that come painted, but have no idea if they would even be close to decent quality. Given that they're not as prone to stone chips as a front valance would be, it may not be *as much* of an issue, but it's not something I would skimp on, as it could just look absolute crap. One of the sellers on eBay was based in Castleknock actually, so you may be able to arrange something.

If you're looking to mod the car, I think money spent on mirrors goes a lot further - like I said earlier, I got rep M3 mirrors, and they make the car look a lot better. BMWs tend to come with really naff blocky mirrors as standard.

    Sweet lord don't drill holes...

I'm currently figuring out what to do with the 6 holes in my boot now I've removed the monstrosity of a spoiler on my new (35yr old) car.

All but the very subtlest of spoilers will reduce the cars value IMO.
