Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can anybody recommend to me an upscaling DVD player that will output 720p/1080i images via component video instead of the usual HDMI or DVI socket. If one is available can it be bought from a retailer in Ireland? The Xbox 360 can do this when using games but not with DVD's.

Did some further checking and noticed that the Helios H4000 will output upscaled images via component video. Is this player available in Ireland and if so where? Any info appreciated!!

Some of the samsung dvd players may do it. I never checked.

Not sure about Samsung some of the big names wont do it as it's against the rules of the CSS to upscale over analogue video outputs however because VGA was never considered to be part of this field it offers a loop hole many manufactures exploit to permit upsclaing.

Now that said some manufactures ignore the rules completely and permit upscaling over component.

The Xbox 360 can actually upscale DVD's if you use the VGA connection for it.
