My dad has a ford focus and has one of them wireless keys for opening and closing the door, its stopped working, wondering is it battery operated and can the battery be changed or does it recharge in the ignition or what?

    are they expensive to replace?

not sure about a focus in particular but virtually all remotes have one of those little circular "watch" batteries in them. I seriously doubt it recharges in the ignition.

It doesn't recharge. I think the one in the new transit does though.

The key should kave a little groove on the back....stick a fork in it and pull the key apart...prize the button part open and replace the battery..should cost no more than €6-€7
