Magheramorne Reinvented

    Today, Magheramorne Works just outside of Larne lies idle.

    At 153 hectares – about the size of 220 football pitches – the works is believed to be the largest 'previously-used' site, awaiting redevelopment, in Northern Ireland.

    There is a proposal to redevelop it into a recreational facility including mountain bike centre, dive centre and climbing facility.

    I was contacted with regard to encouraging interested parties to acknowledge their support for the scheme by sending an email or letter along the following lines:

    "I am writing <on behalf of....> to register support for the latest proposals for the recreational re-use of Magheramorne Quarry and l look forward to seeing planning permission granted for them".

    This should be sent to the address listed on the contact page of http://www.magworks.info/ where further details of the plans can be found.
