East Coast Shooting Club is near Roundwood Co. Wicklow and has facilities for Clay pidgeon, Rifle and Pistol shooting. They have a nice 100 metre rifle range with covered firing points for bench rest and prone shooting, a new pistol range with very good covered firing points and an extensive clay layout with automatic traps for DTL and sporting birds. They shoot every Sunday morning from 10:00 till 14:00 and are very welcoming to visitors. It is a members club, not a commercial business so the fees are very reasonable.

Annual fees are typically 250 to 500 Euro
Joining fees are 250 to 1000 Euro once off.
East Coast is at the low end of these ranges.
Most clubs have categories of membership such as Junior, student family, retired, etc.. with fees varied according to circumstances.

While not in the dublin/leinster area
I Joined Midlands a while back and think the place is Great! :-)
Its an hour and a half travel for me but its worth it
and I often see people from Nothern Ireland travel down.

I paid 450 Euro for First time membership
and then its 250 Euro per year afterwards.
(still waiting on my laminated membership card)

What I think it totally cool is the fact that the clubhouse opens out onto
the range and it has a Microwave/Vending Machines/Telly/Books and magazines
a pool table, a beer tap (I have seen) and has a few bits and bobs stocked
that you can buy. I also love the way Non-Members or Guests can hire
a rifle to fire and experiance shooting. A lot of workmates of mine have experianced
an interest in trying shooting at least once.

Is it a difficult process to join any of these clubs and are they sufficent for the local super to issue a licence?

No problem joining. Most clubs are enthusiastic to welcome new members or newcomers to the sport (except where membership is fully subscribed of course).
Club membership is sufficient and indeed one of the requirements for a firearms certificate. However most clubs will have a mandatory probationary period and/or require minimum attendances/passing safety courses etc.. before issuing a letter that a member can take to their local FAO to apply for the certificate.
