Over the past few days I haven't been able to access quite a few sites, like www.dell.ie www.bbc.co.uk and www.wikipedia.org just to name a few. I've tried both firefox and IE but all I get is the unable to connect to the server message. Are other IBB customers experiencing the same?

To rule out a problem with your pc try an nslookup.

i.e ..open dos prompt... nslookup www.bbc.co.uk

See if the dns is resolving to a ip address.

Sometimes spyware/virus will block out certain sites

Tried that and all seems fine. I guess its a problem an IBB problem

Try lowering your MTU value. Common problem with some IBB customers that leave it at the default 1500. More info here.

I'm on IBB and have no problem accessing those sites os doubt it's a routing prob with IBB.

    Cork
    EircomBB 2MB

I have found lately that a few sites are slower to load than normal (inc. bbc), but it is only a few and my speed is otherwise normal.

Thats more likely a problem with the said Server's you are accessing, rather than your connection.

Sorry if i'm labouring the point...
When you say seems fine is it giving you the ip address?
    something like 212.58.227.76

If so try browsing to this ip, if you can get to it ibb dns is doing it's job
and could be problem at your end

    Else could be ibb problem

Well all the pages are loading again, so I guess it was a problem on their end
