Right ive been posting quite a bit in regard to researching about a pc im going to build one big problem ive had thats bugged me is the graphics card..

    Im getting an 8800GTS 320MB

Now tonight I went and checked prices on a intel 6400 and a 640MB version of the GTS including with the rest of the parts I was getting, it went over my original price with the 6600 and 320MB version by €50

So all together with the other stuff its

    €1450 with the 6400 and 640MB GTS
    €1400 with the 6600 and 320MB GTS

Im wondering which is better for me?

I know the 6400 is pretty overclockable so im think its better going that road wit the 6400...

    What do you think?

    It's a personal choice. I'd get the 6600 myself.

What resolution do you intend gaming at?

If you're serious about overclocking, then you don't even need a 6400, you could get a much cheaper 6300 or 4300. Or, if you're not overclocking, or like me, yet to fully commit to it, get the 6600. Although right now, I have the 6400, and have no problem running everything on high settings...

Said it before...at that res, the 320 is as good as the 640.

You could consider a 4300 + water kit for the same prices as a 6600 I'd say. That way you'd always have the water kit.

i'd say the e6600 and the 320, but thats only my opinion. Depends on what you want it for really?

I'd say the 6400 with the 320mb GTS. The two cheapest options. My 6400 hit 2.8GHz with nothing other than +0.1v volts, runs cool enough. Even if I hadn't overclocked it it would still be a beast.

Take aswell that the 320mb GTS has almost exact parity with the 640mb GTs and theres no real reason to spend more on either component

Even if you're not on a budget it doesn't make much sense to get a GTX with your monitor. By the time the GTS becomes unable to run what you want at native res, there'll be a whole new generation of Dx10 cards available anyway.

Thats a pretty valid point! I thought of that myself! Really the GTX is bragging rights!?

I could always just go for the GTS 640MB and spend the money on other hardware...

    Or sell my monitor.....

The same model as a 20" is an extra €100....

An 8800GTX and Crysis on an 19" should perform pretty well.....

Or are you just going to reply 20" lol :D
