If you have one, thing's aren't as bad as they initially seemed. Even though up until now the card has been performing literally worse then its predecessors (900 and 950) Intel have shown tests of the card using hardware texture and lighting instead of software, and it looks good.

Half Life 2 running on all high settings at 1024x768 at 30-60fps, Call of Duty 2 running at 60fps, on undisclosed settings but looks decent.

In comparison, the previous GMA950 can only run Half Life 2 at all low settings in Dx7 mode - and even then it's not great.

Intel strikes back, finally. Beta driver coming 'soon' with a finalised one by the end of the year.

Yeah saw that myself as well, finally some decent drivers as the GMA X3000 isn't a bad part of paper at all it's even supposed to be DX10 compliant though there are unconfirmed rumours of a newer rev which will be branded as the DX10 version.

The fact that Intel's getting into the graphics business should hopefully mean the quality of the drivers should pick considerably in the long term.

Pity it's been so long getting here - the X3000 has already earned itself a pretty crap reputation so far with most people, which will be fairly hard to univerally reverse right across the board..
