Radio plays anyone?

    Hello,

I'm doing voluntary work with a radio station based in North Wales and I'd love to produce a radio play. I've been keeping an eye out for scripts for quite a while and thought perhaps this would be a great opportunity for someone on these boards. If anyone would like to hear their work produced and broadcast then let me know.

Since this will be broadcast to a welsh audience it would need to be understood by them and so not too much Irish slang and such.

Also, I don't want to set a brief set in stone because I want anyone taking a shot at this to write what they write best. Likewise it doesn't have to be a set length because it doesn't have a pre-ordained slot, so whatever length you feel best rounds off the play.

Scheduling will depend upon the genre and tone of the piece which again is entirely up to you.

Target audience is the community, so we will be running a number of diverse features to suit a diverese and ever changing community and so there is no set target audience.

Copyright of the written piece belongs to the author. If there's a problem or an alteration needs to be made it will be made with the authors permission before production of the piece.

The copyright of the production will belong to me as all production efforts will be mine. It will be broadcast on our community radio station and it will form part of my creative portfolio.

If anyone is interested I'd be very interested in reading what any of you come up with.

    Cheers,
    Rosie

This should be moved or copied to Creative Writing forum methinks.

    No need for that.

He already posted there and I told him to post here as well to see if there was any interest from a radio crowd.

It might be worth your while getting in touch with Irish community stations ( see www.craol.ie ), particularly my local one Dundalk FM 100 - they're working on creating radio drama at the moment and are looking for all the help they can get!

Nice one Bard, I'll do that. I'll be coming home to Dublin in May for good (I study in the Uk at the mo) and I'm looking to get involved in as many things as possible so cheers for that.
