    hi guys

im a french guy who arrived in dublin a few weeks ago, and I might join the skirmishing in a few weeks :D

well since its the purpose of the topic, heres a few pictures of my stuff :

vfc hk 416 dx, with all the stuff i like to play around with
(the rifle now has a magpul miad and ctr)
    416-s.jpg
just love it. huge ROF, huge noise

    thats my star SL-9
i especially like my silencer "into the handguard" custom work
featuring big-ass illuminated 50' scope, with automatic flip-ups (damn neat thing)
    sl9-1.jpg
and laser inside the handguard (see the switch near the trigger)
    sl9-3.jpg
    --- edit --- [ about french limitations ]

i did a 450 fps / 12v upgrade on this gun (and mechanically disabled the full-auto)
in France the legal limit for airsoft is 2 joules so we put ourselves those limits to give snipers a slight advantage :
    - anything that has full-auto should not be higher than 350 fps
    - and snipers up to 450 fps (and mechanically restricted to semi-auto if its a sniper aeg)

so the gun stays in France and if i ever bring it here, ill downgrade it to 320fps.
just wanted to show it to you guys, of course I didn't mean to break the law.

    now for the handguns...

    hi4capa-s.jpg
the base of this custom is a tm hicapa 4.3, but i nearly changed everything on it.
the frame, grip, and lamp are in the same OD color and the rest is really black, its just the flash that messes up the colors

    hicapa01.jpg
    hicapa04.jpg
    marui hicapa 5.1
ive sanded the frame and several parts of the frame and security levers, also changed several parts. i really like the dual-tone style :o

now this is my 7 inch baby
    hi2capa01.jpg
this one isnt finished yet, but i still love it
ill completely remake the compensator, from a piece of aluminium or something, when i have some time...

and those 2 babies are my "CQB dual handgun special"
two maruzen p99 nbb, just love the noise they (dont) make:D
    p99.jpg

    that's all folks !
looking forward to meet you all in some trench under a shower of bb's, or around a nice bbq !

Although from the Same Maker the P226 is far superior to the M9
    in Weight/Feel/Finish/Sturdiness/Tight Fit/
(But I like the "look" of the M9 better)

First off i'm only used to clone pistols so seeing the level of detail that goes into this pistol is amazing, take for example
    IMG_0412.jpg
    IMG_0416.jpg

really like the saftey on it its built into the trigger so no manual saftey catch ready to fire as soon as you pull the trigger
    IMG_0411.jpg

there is a rellay nice weight to it,
good kick back and it makes a lot of noise when fired
to be honest i've got a hell of a grin on my face just fire two mags through it, sweet as

    Jing Gong Steyr AUG

    Good solid Build:

    aug2.jpg

Barell is lovely Matt and heavy look at those ridges and flash hider:
    aug12.jpg
    aug11.jpg

Stock has an ejection port on the right which hides hopup adjustment area:
    aug10.jpg

It has a rubber covering for lefties but it does not do anything.
    aug9.jpg

Reciever strips from main body to reveal this
    aug8.jpg

Magazine well is solid but BB's tend to get "lost" inside the stock and aeg and
rattle about as there is and opening or gap inside the magwell that allows them
to fall into the inside of the AEG. Also the Magazine hi-cap door opens up while
the mag is inserted and BB's fall out of it when moving it about:
    aug7.jpg

Barrel and reciever comes out comes out

    D'Boys M4A1 and M4CQB
    m4s.jpg

Rear sight fully ajustable for elevation and windage
    m4-rearsight.jpg

Fire selector swithch is ULTRA smooth
    m4-fire-selector.jpg

Hand Guard is very soild and strong.
    m4-cqb-hangguardunder.jpg
    m4-cqb-handguardtop.jpg

Flash Hider has a Gloss finish I dont like this:
    m4-cqb-flasheliminator.jpg

The CQB has a crane stock and you need a non-standard battery back
that has the cells split and they go into the tubes on the left and right
in the stock. Nasty set up I dont like:
    m4-cqb-cranestock.jpg

CQB back site. Pretty Cool and fully adjustable. Comes off without needing tools.
    m4-cqb-backsight.jpg

THe M4-A1 stock is much better. No Batteries here as on the A1 they
    are held in the handguard
    m4-a1-telecopestock.jpg

There is a seperate piece that comes with the M4-A1 that goes on the front
of it to hold the sling swivel. Its a bitch to get on as there are pins that
need to be forced into holes. It does not NEED to be present as there is
holes already on the M4 to install the front swivel
    m4-a1-slingfront2.jpg
    m4-a1-slingfront.jpg

I think anyone that ever watched the telly and saw an armalite (and thought everything was an M16) will universally recogzine the carrying handle.
    m4-a1-handle2.jpg
    m4-a1-handle1.jpg

Again on the M4 and also the barrell locking ring its a high gloss finish
    whats the story jack'n'ory.

Ok so I got the M1A1 Thompson on Saturday. Of course plastic "wood" furniture would never do so I got the ACM real wood fourniture with it.

To begin with when Shiva took the box out, I couldn't get over the size of the it, I was even more surprised to find the Thompson filled that box. On picking it up I was instantly pleased with the heft of the thing. She was nice and heavy and the plastic "wood" was of a very good quality, in fact it did actually look like wood so if you didn't want to fork out the 85 for the real wood you would still have a beauty to look at. As I said it was big and on putting it against a D-Boys M4 it was just as long. The stock and receiver are actually two thirds of the whole guns total length.

Before I even fired it or did anything with it, actually during my break at HRTA to be honest, I started to mount the real wood stock. Taking the plastic furniture off was simple. Then I realised I had to transfer over the sling swivels too. This is easy enough to do if you actually lay it all out and use the wood screws provided in the kit. I barrelled into it and tried screwing on the sling swivels with the screws from the plastic stock. After a few unsuccesful minutes I realised the error of my ways and it all went smoothly from there. The butt plate is held on with a single screw and transferred over simply. There was one of the two main screws though for mounting the stock to the reciever that refused to screw in.

On getting it home I discovered that the screw was supposed to screw into a plate inside the receiver but that comes loose when you unscrew the stock. I had to field strip the gun which is very simple, just press a button underneath the rear of the receiver and slide top of the receiver off. This gave me access to hold the plate in place and screw the offending screw in.

So now I discovered my only real gripe and it's not with the gun but rather the wood stock. On the plastic stock, to insert the battery you pull open a round flap on the butt plate which operates a latch that allows you pull the butt plate out and swivel it around on special hinge, giving you access to the battery compartment. With the wood stock there is no hinge and the buttplate is screwed into the stock. So every time you change the battery you have to unscrew the buttplate. Even if you wanted to transfer the hinge over to fix there is no space to transfer it.

    Buttplate and Latch
    DSC00565.JPG

    Removed Buttplate
    DSC00567.JPG

After I had charged the battery and "installed" it I gave it a lash. The magazine only holds a pitiful 47 rounds so it's not much use as a primary weapon and as a backup the gun is too big. I'll definitely be ordering the 420 rd hi-caps or a drum mag if I can find one. I had no problems firing off a few magazines and the accuracy was spot on straight out of the box. The ROF is pretty low though which dissapointed me a little as a tommy gun should spit the bullets out but there is room to play with so you could install a bigger battery if you wanted to with a little modding. On the plastic stock a pliers would suffice, on the wood you would need to be a bit more hands on and use a router or craft tool like a dremel.

    DSC00556.JPG

To sum it up though, all in all a nice looking gun, plenty of heft. Perfect for a WWII load out. It needs a hi-cap mag and with some mods you could install a bigger battery and improve ROF.
