Just looking for a bit of advise on what type of paint if any we can use to paint a storage heater.

Just move into a place thats a few years old, the grill across the topfront of the rad was black with burnt dust, sorted with sugar soap and a now sore elbow, but the from on the main part of the rad had a good few marks and chips the marks do not want to come off atall so reckon the only way to get rid of both the enamel, i assume it ennamel, is to paint the front cover.

Any advise or tips if you have done this before?

there are plenty of products out there so any oil-based rad paint will do.
if you can find one that tells you to turn rad on after you paint as these are better.
do not use a water-based one as the coverage is bad and is prone to chiping
    best of luck.
