    Okay, so the Minister has published his Criminal Justice Bill 2007 today, it's available here:

    Part 6 contains a few minor amendments to the Firearms Act 2006 (which isn't even fully commenced yet). They shouldn't affect anyone in the shooting sports or sport shooting fields:
    • Minor change to section 2 regarding authorisations for bird scaring firearms at airports;
    • Minor change to section 2 allowing the superintendent of any district to authorise the National Muesuem to possess a firearm for display if it's a heritage object (as defined in the National Cultural Institutions Act 1997);
    • Changes to section 15 of the 1925 Act (Possession of firearms with intent to endanger life); sections 26, 27, 27A and 27B of the 1964 Act (Possession of firearm while taking vehicle without authority, Prohibition of use of firearms to resist arrest or aid escape, Possession of firearm or ammunition in suspicious circumstances, Carrying firearm with criminal intent); and section 12A of the 1990 Act (Shortening barrel of shotgun or rifle); all to do with clarifying minimum sentencing requirements upon conviction.
