    Mmm Seeet good quality video.

I must say looking at the video has sparked an interest.
Pity there is no place in Limerick you can go to try it out.
You'd think that if your only fireing at 10m it would
not take a whole lot of effort to get a building to use as
an indoor range. or fit it out safely and get a club set up.

Must find out about airgun stuff dont know much about it.
When looking at the rifle being fired I dont see it move
at all once the trigger is pulled. Or pressed from what it looks like.

How come the suits are worn for rifle and not for pistol ?
Are the blinkers only to stop getting distracted or have they another purpose.
Are the glasses worn used only to hold blinkers
whats the typical magnification of the scopes used.
The flat feet/non rolling shoes I get for weight distribution?

Was reading an article on the electronic scoring systems
that was on the Irish shooter Digest. Does the actual pellet hit a target
or is the black bull just a hole where it passes through it from the video
it looks like there is some black paper that rolls down after the shot is fired.

Since its only 10m it makes we wonder do many people build their
own indoor range down the back of their garden and practice on the sly
in the conveniance of your own home.

Castlemaine over by Tralee isn't too far from you bullets, and there's some ISSF lads down that way.

Nope, certainly not technically at any rate. In terms of planning permission, well, that's another deal...

Nope, very little recoil. You can see it through the sights allright (except for the steyr LG110, which is absolutely dead when you fire it), and you can spot it when you look closely for it, but it's nothing like cartridge firearms.
But that just increases the demands on your accuracy...
How come the suits are worn for rifle and not for pistol?
Rifle's heavier. Don't wear the suits, get chronic back injury.
Are the blinkers only to stop getting distracted or have they another purpose.
That and to ensure you're only getting the image from the eye looking through the sights. There are rules about blinder size and so on of course, so you can't hide your head behind an acre of paper :D
Are the glasses worn used only to hold blinkers
No, they're for correcting vision the same way normal glasses are. The frames just hold the lens in front of the sights correctly.
whats the typical magnification of the scopes used.
No scopes allowed. No lens systems of any kind, it's all iron sights.
    Well.
One exception - 10m running target is allowed use an x2 scope, but that's not in the olympic programme since Athens and it's rather rare outside of France 'cos it takes up four or five bays on a firing range.
The flat feet/non rolling shoes I get for weight distribution?
    Yup. And balance.
Was reading an article on the electronic scoring systems
that was on the Irish shooter Digest. Does the actual pellet hit a target
or is the black bull just a hole where it passes through it from the video
it looks like there is some black paper that rolls down after the shot is fired.
The pellet goes through a hole in a white metal screen and hits black paper or rubber; the sound is then picked up by several microphones that triangulate where the pellet hit. There are optical systems as well though, but the article in the Digest about Rathdrum's new targets was about the acoustic system.
Since its only 10m it makes we wonder do many people build their
own indoor range down the back of their garden and practice on the sly
in the conveniance of your own home.
Used to; can't anymore with the new laws. :(
A lot of the training though, isn't live firing, but dry firing.
Every lunchtime for 30-40 minutes, standing there with an empty rifle, learning balance. And that's just for low level international competitions, the people winning the Europeans do training like that all day every day...
