The last few years there have been speed increases around March each year. Just wondering with smart/magnet a lot more low key now if were likely to get any increases this year? Doesnt seem to be any rumblings about it.

Yeah, I check this forum periodically wondering the same thing. Wouldn't mind a big more bandwidth each month and an extra kick to my upload speed.

I'd doubt it, not untill Eircom spend some money on their lines as if they did another upgrade the majority of people wouldn't be able to benefit from it

Not going to happen this year but tbh they don't need to up the speeds more what they need to up is the caps.

No, what they need to do is improve all the network infrastructure so that they can properly upgrade to ADSL2 and increase everyones speed to at least 15 meg and not have to worry about contention.

eircom have always been good for yearly speed increases
    eg.2005, my reg speed was 47 kb/s
    2006, it is 48kp/s
    imagine getting 49kp/s.......how i dream........

8 Meg but with overheads and general line noise, it's very unlikely to go over 6.
