MANS - Yet Another Joke

Is it just me or are the MANS across Ireland yet another broadband joke. I know of several small business around the town of Clonmel in Tipperary that have been asking for access to the MANS for quite some time and were quoted a 10k euro connection charge. In my opinion this is just insane for something that was meant to be installed to spread broadband usage throughout the country.

After going through alot of press releases and reading statements suggesting that the MANS are a tool used to make other companies more competitive and prompt them to actually enable more exchanges I have to ask the question, would it not be a better solution to charge a fair termination charge so people can actually use the network instead of using a fiber network as a propaganda tool?
