Goalscoring goalkeepers!!!!

Sevilla's keeper scored the equaliser for them tonight with a 90th minute header to force extra time.

I remember being at a Shels match in '94 I think it was and Shels 'keeper Jody Byrne scored from a kick out in Monaghan. Shels keeper Paddy Roche also scored a league goal for us in the 70s before he was bought by Manchester United.

I remember Peter Schmeichel scoring a last minute header in a UEFA Cup tie in 1995, but Man United still went out.

Anyone else got any goalscoring goalkeepers? And no own goals or peno shoot-outs!!!!

mark crossley scored for sheffield wednesday this season.

look on youtube for jose luis chilavert or rogerio ceni, they used to score all the time.
also that goalkeeper you scored in the last minute of the last game of the season to keep carlisle in the football league then didnt get his contract re-newed.

Sander Westerveld, one time Liverpool keeper, scored a couple from kick-outs during his time in Holland, I think.

Croatia scored from a goal-kick against Italy at Euro 2004 if I recall correctly.

Mart Poom scored a brilliant header about 2 years back now , his head was above the crossbar when he connected with it !

Royale with Cheese

Jens Lehmann got one for Dortmund years ago. Header from a last minute corner. The Leverkusen keeper Butt I think,(could have been moved on by this stage) took their penalties. There was one incident where he scored, spent too long celebrating and the opposition scored straight from the kick off into an empty net.

Paul Robinson scored for Spurs with a header in the cup a few years ago and recently Colombia's keeper scored from his own box against Poland when Tomas Kuszczak misjudged the bounce.

Also Martyn Margetson scored for Man City against Wycombe when he came on as an outfield in a Leagu Cup game circa 1994. Does that count?!

Funnily enough three United goalkeepers have been lobbed by other goalkeepers from the opposite end of the pitch. Alex Stepney was lobbed by Pat Jennings in 68? Kuszczak was lobbed by a South American keeper in a friendly just before the World Cup and today Foster was lobbed by Robinson.

Hopefully not a sign of things to come...
