Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

God knows I'm not the most patriotic of people anymore. But RTE have just REALLY , REALLY irked me.

On a day when people are celebrating the Irish culture our national broadcaster cuts off coverage of the parade half way through to show the film Big Foot

You'd think on the one day when the worlds eyes is on Ireland every year that they could be actually bothered to show some bloody interest

It's things like this that make a case for these ****ers to lose their monopoly on the TV license fee and have it divvied up equally. RTE if your reading this your ****HEADS :)

The coverage was crap too, It kept cutting off. Same as the presenters and commentaters, cutting every one off.

really? not covering enough of the parade for you at a time when anybody with much interest is at it anyway? This is a reason for splitting up the license fee?
How was the TV3 coverage, oh yeah, none at all.

That's one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard.

    Coverage was shíte alright.
Presenters yip-yapping away in Irish... then cut to commercials.
I just turned it off half way though, pathetic effort.
Won't bother my arse watching it next year.

TV3 could not show the parades because RTE have bought exclusive rights to show all the parades.
Next year it will be Pay Per View.
Tv3 have bought the highlights package though, so you can watch that tonight.:)

I never watch the parades myself. I find them a bore fest.
Now, i'm off to watch Bigfoot.

I actually think Setanta must have got the highlights. They are setting up a parade channel I think.

No it isn't. A first language, native language, or mother tongue is the first language that a person learned. Most of our population speak English as their first language. D-D-D-DUH! How could you not know this?

There should be some Irish channels in the style of all those cheapskates on Sky but with more Irish programmes. Even a few live shows a day would eventually pass out RTE and by the look of most of the crappy local channels on Sky, they could work with second hand equipment, some camcorders and a DVD player

First of all the Irish was spoken by a group of presenters who are actually from the Gealtachs in Ireland.

An Dara Rud, usoideann siad Bearla agus Gealige anios agus aris tri an séo, deaneann RTE gealige agus bearl gach blian tri an feila.

And finally the parade is still a load of cac, regardless of language.

    (My irish is bad, sorry!!!)
