Just wondering what peoples views are on the girl, and the direction she seems to moving with the new single and album. Is she becoming more conformist?

I have to say yes, as I found it quite amusing how she spent her first 2 albums bitching about how bad guys treat her and cheat on her etc. yet in the first single from her new album, talks about stealing some girls boyfriend. Nice move Einstein.

Little known fact pop pickers. She was originally signed by her record company as a Country and Western act, but the record company decided not to go down that route, instead deciding to go with the angsty emo kid vibe.

Anyway, back to original point. Does anybody really care what "direction" she's going in "artistically"? And as for her becoming "conformist"??? WTF? She's a pop act ffs! She's already conforming.

I think she's way too produced. She tried to be different - i.e. she wasn't yer typical Jessica Simpson / Britney (big tits, fake tan / hair etc etc) .She dressed in weird clothes, didn't seem to really care how she looked, sang an ould song or two and appealed to the masses who also thought they were unique/weird.
Her second album had a lot of ballads, which I guess was supposed to signify her growing up....
Then she comes out with this song from her latest album which is a bit like...whoah, where did that come from? Its pure crap..not to mention a complete rip off of Hey Mickey.

What i'm thinking is her record company must have decided that the monies where the kids are at...so lets aim for those people again. However I guess the original target audience might feel a little cheated at the moment considering she's looking more and more like britney / jessica simpson every day.

As any person who has an ear for rock or metal will you tell, you can spot acts like this a mile off. Its just pop acts, trying desperately to appeal to fans of other genres (Avril Lavigne -Punk rock fanbase)They fail miserably of course, because they just look and sound way too commercialised and over produced to be a true band of the genre they try to mirror.

I loved every song on her debut album and only about half of them on her second album. She is gorgeous with or without make-up and... ... ..and... ...she's just great.

Just more of the same 'try to sound different when you start' crap , really . Second album revealed her true (in)ability . Third album confirms it . It's not really her fault , though . She was only a kid who got the company hyping her up and why wouldnt a young girl believe the publicity ? I got a 3 year old lass who will always know she's the best singer and dancer on this planet cos i tell her so but I'd beat A&R men away with sticks if they ever came knocking ! Avril , Britney et al prove how much record companies care about profit and how little they care about the 'artists/artistes' they contract . It seems as long as they are getting headlines that's good enough !!
