    I'm pretty sure I know what the answer to this will be but I'm keeping my hopes up. I'm having a lot of trouble from a wisdom tooth and will have to go to the dentist. I presume I'll need an x-ray and possibly an extraction. For both of these I'll have to take my tongue ring out, won't I? Will a plastic retainer suffice?

    I never had to take mine out for any of the above and I needed to get 13fillings all together!! I asked the dentist will I take it out and they said no!!

    I had to get a xray of my teeth before and he asked me to take out any facial/ear piercings, but cos he said it to me about 30 seconds before the xray, i wasnt exactly gonna stand there taking out about 20 piercings. i think i took out my tongue and left it my tongue web and that was it. but even if you have to, the xray doesnt take long at all..
    dont' see why you'd have to take it out for extractions though, unless the dentist is really fussy about **** like that, cos i've gone through extractions and left mine in.

    i was allowed leave all mine in,my tragus ones were closed too tight to just take them out on demand so he just said leave it it doesnt really matter anyway
