Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's good to see that Pakistan have come into this game with a positive mindset.

For shame, I was... I've switched over now once Charles Colville showed the pictures from Sabina and Inzy walking off. wow. Sorry I missed that.

    Tsk tsk.

Imran Nazir is really playing a blinder. I only wish I could be watching the game at home. Instead I am glancing at Cricinfo every few minutes :(

170/4 in the 31st is not what I like to see....

    Yousuf gone for 3

See? A wicket goes when I watch it!

    Bring on Afridi :D

Edit: How's the pitch looking? Are the Pakistani's getting themselves out with their usual silly shot selection or are the Zimbo bowlers just bowling well?

I'd like to see Afridi come on, as long as Pakistan get to 220 before he does!

    Pakistan 175/4 after 31

They should make it to 270... you can quote me on that :D Afridi might not even be needed.

We've had the fireworks for now, if Younis Khan can nurdle with Nazir, to get Nazir to 100, and then to 200, then they can accelerate again. 4 down and 18 overs left mean to me, play it safely and then go for the last 10 overs.

    Yep... sound advice there.

Not sure they're in the nurdling mood though. Yousuf is more the innings builder.

Silly shots, really. Some fine catches and "moral victories" for the bowlers.

Pitch is the best of all the games in Sabina.

Why am I not surprised ;)

I hope that they have the sense to pace the innings so that they can get past 300.

    Pakistan 192/4 off 34

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,762 ✭✭✭✭Inquitus

Looking good for us, Can't see Zimbabwe being able to chase much over 200, Pakistan look set for 300 (no more silly shots please) so a place in the Super 8's beckons, WI or no WI :)

Jayasuriya getting injured will probably be bad news for bangladesh, since he might not be available against India. If India win against Sri Lanka then they could still go through above bangladesh on run rate. (especially with their obliteration of Bermuda)

They've replayed them again there... Akmal's dismissal was after he got a knock on the knucks from the previous delivery, caught behind. Malik's was... um... improvised. See it and weep! Inzy holed out to mid off, and Yousuf was a c&b after losing a life being dropped on the boundary the previous ball.

    Pakistan 197/4 off 35.1

Nazir 100* off 95 balls. Pld sir.

    BIG SIX from Younis...

    200 up in the 36th

So what you reckon? Pakistan doing enough to win?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,726 ✭✭✭✭DMC

    251/4 after 40

A series of sixes and boundaries. ... 53 in the last 4 overs...

    Khan run-out for 28

    252/5

    Enter you know who.......

Jayasuryia brings up his 100 with a 6.

Back home from work and only have NTL. Actually wish I was in work

with another 6 Jayasuryia brings up SL's 300

They should have enough on the board. 221 and 204 are the totals Zimbabwe have scored in the tournament.

    265/5 off 41

Afridi and Nazir are not looking for singles.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,579 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

10 ball left in the SL innings 304-4. Surely Sky will go straight to Jamacia during the lunch break for all of us without the red button????

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,870 ✭✭✭mikeruurds

It sure is looking good for Ireland.

I'm a South African supporter, but nothing would give me more pleasure than to see Ireland get the chance to play 7 more games against the 7 top teams.

G'wan the boys in green (Pakistan, Ireland or SA... you pick)

With Afridi at the crease, they would be lunatics not to!

    150 for Nazir.

    Afridi's first 6.

    278/5 after 42.2

They've changed the ball, might be a little bit easier for the pair to see. ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,579 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

    SL 318-4 for their 50ovs.

Its about NRR limitiation for Bangladesh now.

Come on Sky, over to Jamacia....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,726 ✭✭✭✭DMC

    285/5 after 43

Nazir could get 200.... he'd be the first in ODI's.... his last 50 off 17 balls.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,726 ✭✭✭✭DMC

    Afridi bowled by Brent.

    285/6

Looking good for us now, Big total for Zim to chase..

Ireland in the Super 8's, looking a reality now..

Would that mean get to play England and Austrailia?:D

Oh yes... well that's if England get through. The good thing is that Ireland will play every team that gets through once.

Edit: How many times has Nazir been let off the hook now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,726 ✭✭✭✭DMC

If we are to qualify for the Super 8, we won't play the West Indies again... we play the other 6. Ireland's last group game is on Friday against the West Indies.

    Nazir is gone for 160

    295/7 in the 45th.

Gary Kirten's record is safe for now :D

Edit: Yes, sorry - Ireland play the other 6 and not WI. Silly me.

320 would be a lovely total

Pakistan 301/8 in the 46th over

    Sami gone for 5.

Gary Brent sure has a mouth full of teeth!

Its dropping rain in Kingston... Williams dropped Gul in that last over...

More sad news.... Tony Cozier has announced that the former ICU president Bob Kerr has died in Oche Rios.

    9th wicket down.

    324/9 , 47.5 overs ... Gul gone for 10.

The innings ending in a whimper...

Thankfully the collapse happened after the magical 300 was broken.

Pakistan have a bad habit of being bowled out.

I'll be off once this innings end.... I'll be leaving it in you capable hands for the evening.

    335/9 after 49

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,726 ✭✭✭✭DMC

    Thats it... innings over...

Rao Iftikhar getting 2 sixes in the over... and caught.

349 all out off 49.5 overs.

    Zimbabwe need 350 to win.

    Slow over rate from Zimbabwe?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,780 ✭✭✭✭ninebeanrows

Brilliant score from Pakistan couldn't of asked for more..

Would take a miracle now for Ireland not to make the super 8's :)

Nah... 6 minutes is 1 over. I doubt they'd be docked one in the chase.

Hmm, the innings should've been completed at 6pm... so 8 minutes over. Hard to say if they will.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,870 ✭✭✭mikeruurds

I don't think so. Wouldn't make a difference anyway... I think this is about 5 bridges too far for Zim.

    Super 8s, here we come....

Crumbs, both these games have already been won, no ways Zims gonna get that score and Bangledesh are already 7 for 2.
