There was me thinking it was a High Horse, but then again, plenty of people in Ireland already have these...;)

    good move though.

The new edition of the book, which has been expanded from 68 pages to 288 pages, includes new sections on road rage, the penalty point system and metric speed limits.

288 pages ???? The version they had up for comments on their website was only 95 pages long. A typo perhaps?

New sections on Road rage, that probably takes a good chunk of the pages

No idea on that. RTE News at lunchtime mentioned the size of it and the languages it'll be in. It'll include stuff on the LUAS and "road rage" amongst other things. It might even include "How to drive on a motorway".

if some of the foreign registered car drivers living in ireland are willing to drive around with no Irish Road Tax, Insurance, NCT etc and with no regard for the rules of the IRISH roads, and get away with it, do you think they'll even bother to read it?

I would say the 288pages hasd all languges in it, why give a free copy to each household if not every house has English speaking people in it. The must have cut a lot out,
    old book 95 pages one language (x 4 languages = 380pgs)
    New book 4/5 languages 288pgs..

    Hmmm...

The old one was only 68 pages (including cheesy photo of Brendan Howlin).

Good sensible decision to give a free copy to every household.
