    .
Press Release P.A.R.C. (Public Against Road Carnage)

PARC was started up in 2006 in Inishowen by Susan Gray. Since than she has featured in Prime Time on RTE television and also on RTE main evening news. On Thursday next 22 March the Leitrim branch of PARC will be presenting another 20,000 signatures to Minister Martin Cullen at the Dail at 1.30 pm. Senator Jim Higgins MEP and Ms Marion Harkin will speak and many other public representatives will be present. In the petition we are calling on the Minister to make alcohol testing of all drivers involved in traffic accidents compulsory (no exception for any reason). This is the law in Northern Ireland and most EU countries. We deserve the same legislation to save lives. We need change in leglislation by our Minister for Transport Martin Cullen to ensure that no driver – having caused injury or death to another - can avoid being tested in the future. Public support and public pressure at the Dail on Thursday would be greatly appreciated as we need to inform the government of the extent of the public outcry on this issue.

We are inviting everyone from all over the country to come and join us outside the Dail on Thursday next 22 March at 1.30. We especially welcome all those who have been injured or who have lost loved ones on our roads.

obviously I'm missing something. I thought the Gardai have the right to breathalise you if they want now? Or is this some (rather large!) loophole that was missed?

Doctors tend to refuse to allow tests on people admitted to A&E.
