Blip in DSL services in north east today...?

My BT 2mbit connection has been very laggy all morning and from about 12pm just ceased resolving webpages altogether....seems to be back up and working at full speed now. Anyone else expereince this outtage today? Judging by the waiting line on their TS phone number, something was up.
