Just to note for newbies watching this for the first time... if you see the gold coloured World Cup trophy cross the screen, it means a replay is being about to be shown, or they are going back to live.

Rankin hasnt looked at his best in this spell. Has been short and wide, never a great combination. 17 off his last over.

    56-1 off 10

Looks like India are on their way home. A small crumb of comfort for Pakistan fans but a loss to the competition in my opinion.

Pakistani commentator on sky claims that the irish attack leaves a lot to be desired when theres no help from the pitch/conditions. An element of truth there but I sense a note of bitterness after saturdays result.

no no indians will watch the world cup same like pakistan

the only think will happen will major changes in team and selectors same like pakistan !

    W Indies playing class !!

Ireland have no control on game what so ever !!!

*That raises my suspision about Pakistan game being fixed :D so many of them got catch out !

this will be over before 35 overs my prediction given that if ireland dosent bowl out first 6 batsman out

:D This can't be good for the WC. The two biggest audiences no longer have any incentive to watch.

When Chanderpaul is wellying you all around the ground you know you're in trouble.

Shivvy is a class batsman when he's on form. I just can't get over his open stance and correction during the bowler's delivery.

I'd say it's irritating the hell out of the Irish bowlers :D

Cricket is alll about Handling pressure.Irish team seem to be getting under massive pressure.

W Indies taking full Advantage of loose deliveries !

Not doubting his class or the oddness of his stance. Just that he's normally more anchor than dasher

    India 185 all out

Sri Lanka win by 69 runs.

    <flush>

Thats the sound of the contracts and promotional material of the marketing execs in Hero Honda, Hutch, Pepsi and LG going down the pan.

You just cannot see Bermuda turning over Bangladesh.... bye bye India.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,780 ✭✭✭✭ninebeanrows

Ahh well would take a miracle now!

it does show though that if Ireland had of batted a total of around 250 which they could easily had have they would be in with a real shout for this game..

It's good to see us really competing with the big guns

We know need to get a few maidens to give us some excitement

Tis a bit after the Lord Mayor's show, tbh. But I didn't expect Ireland to on fire for every game. Its impossible for an associate country to keep the tempo up.

Ireland have qualified for the Super 8's. No one expected that. Even if they lose all 6 matches.... they've played higher than they've ever imagined.

Well I mean the truth is that they've been completely outclassed from what I've seen today. The thing you have remember is your dealing with part-time, amateur players in general who are up against some of the best in the world at the mo.

One thing I have noticed is TJ's abscence tho. He's an integral part of the side imo.

Ah no... Pepsi won't back out. Jamaica is Pepsi country after all. They have a massive bottling plant there afaik.

i doubt that Ireland would have won even after scoring 250 :D

Look at the form and confidence of the S Chanderpaul looks like he is going to make century here.

I was speaking to an Indian friend today. He took great pleasure from the fact that Pakistan were out. He didn't look too happy about the Sri Lankan score though :D

India VS Pakistan has 100 times more heat then Ireland VS England :D

and in cricket both countries has good teams and some world class players so its always a close call !

U have no idea about the emotions involved

*Game is drifting away from Ireland
If it keeps going like that match will be over before 35 overs !

Ireland v England doesn't even come close.

    Ireland 183/8 (48/48 ov)
    West Indies 133/1 (25.5/48 ov)

West Indies require another 57 runs with 9 wickets and 22.1 overs remaining

Ireland are not trying hard there now. They are just bowling the overs i think they should try some yorkers or bowncers

I saw some nice swings in the begining

Another 6 hmmmmm thats sleeping partner now swinging his arms :D

I do like Ramiz myself. He's very good. I do like the whole team in Jamaica, even Pommie Mbangwa has done well, better than normal. I thought he had a good WC so far. Jeff Dujon is just soooo droll and laid back.. I love it :D

Tony Cozier is a rarity in the comm box.... he's a rare voice that actually hasnt played international cricket. A proper journalist, something exceeding rare cricket commentaries.

    WICKET for Kyle

    Sarwan gone for 36

    143/2

Until Brian Lara is not out W indies have nothing at all to worry about

Good job Ireland must exert prssure on new comming batsman and make sure he dosent take single and give strike to S Chanderpaul

Bouncers are not in the armoury of the Irish pace attack. As none of them nudge 90mph, it would be easy to pick off, tbh.
