Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've a HP iPaq 1900 PDA in need of repair (touchscreen stopped working, seems to function fine otherwise).

Its out of warranty by a couple of years.

Can anyone recommend somewhere to get it repaired/looked at?
    In/near Dublin.

Go back to where you bought it and demand they fix it!!

You are covered by consumer law on electronics up to 5 years

If they do nothing, take them to the small claims court

Only valid if item is faulty, if you broke the device by accident, then you have no rights

Mister Calculator on Duke St. might know where to get it fixed or contact Hp directly

    Good luck :)

I have it 3 years and do not know where it was bought.

Warranty from HP is 1 Year.

What is this 5 Year thing you are talking about? What aspect of general consumer law would give me more than the manufacturers warrantee? This makes no sense to me.

Ill try Mr Calculator though, thanks.

Not true, the EU directive 1999/44 on the sale of consumer goods and associated guarantees offers consumers a right to a minimum guarantee of two years on goods.

    http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=CELEX:31999L0044:EN:HTML

Obviously some manufacturers may offer longer periods, but the minimum is two years.

Also goods purchased before each member state implemented 1999/44, in that state, would not be covered.
