Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Using Progressive Scan on a HD TV?

    I have a Sanyo DVDR/VCR combo which supports Progressive Scan on the output. It provides S-Video, YPrPb and conventional Scart ouput (as well as the obligitory but not used RF modulator.

    I had this connected using a "full" scart cable to our HD TV. I assumed that being a HD TV it would support Progressive Scan as well, but it doesnt. If I was to connect the unit using an S-Video or set of Componant cables would it work?

    According to the TV Manual, HD support is only available on the HDMI connector (seems a bit of a waste since the X-Box 360 uses Componant cables).

    The TV is a Philips FlatTV (not sure of the model number)

    Being a DVDR /VCR combo it can output progressive but that is not HD , the component input should be able to handle this , depending on the way the TV handles this you should get a nicer smoother picture , but not = to HD , for HD you need a HD source.

    Thanks, I know that Progressive is not HD, but I imagine that it will give a clearer, sharper picture and as close to HD quality as can be gotten with a conventional DVD player. So, I will try it with a set of componant cables and see.
