A distinct possibility that March will be colder than January with me.

Currently mean of 7.2C, January 7.7C

Cool nights (minima low single figures) to continue will ensure that mean will not rise much.

It's still above average and warmer than last year (2006) and 2001

Looking at met.ie, a number of the synoptic stations are also cooler this month than whole of January, though not by as much.

Worth noting that while it didn't happen with me last year, a number of the synoptic stations had colder March than January last year (2006). My figures for 2006 were Jan 6.0C, Mar 6.8C

Won't be the first or last time that happens. March is such a tease.
