    Hi,

Ive a 96 mazda 121 (fiesta shape), It wont start. Ive just put a new battery in and it still wont start.

When i turn the key you hear that normal startup sound (electrics or something), but when you turn the key... nothing!

As you may have guessed, Im not technically minded.

    Any ideas,
    Thanks!

I take it that nothing happens when you hold the key in the start position. If this is the case then it could well be the starter motor that is faulty. Double check the connections at the battery just in case one of them is loose.

It may be that the starter motor solenoid is stuck. If you can see it give it a firm tap of a hammer (don't belt the sh1t out of it). That may help.

if you get a piece of wood and hold it against the starter motor, and give it 2 or 3 good whacks, but not too hard. the wood will help spread the impact of the hammer over a bigger surface area and avoid damage
