Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just wondering if anyones read anything with a misleading opening, i had an idea to write a story that starts off humorous and realsitic then turns pretty nasty and surreal.
not to sure if it'll work.
    what think you?

might seem a bit unsteady if not done with care, the transtions have to be seamless for it to work but has been done, will work if you make it clear at he beginning that the focus of the story is a serious topic butthat you are looking at it from a humorous perspective, as the genre changes then just make sure you stay true to the characters and what they realisticaly would/wouldn't do :)

I remember back in the day - we had a debate in school on a premise that went something like, 'Women aren't as good as men except in (can't remember).

'I remember starting off my debate with something like. I disagree with the proposal.' Cue much cheers from the girls in my class, until I continued on with something like, 'I don't believe women are as good as men in anything including the exceptions.' Cue uproar! :D

So, for effect it can be good. But this "gimmick" wouldn't sustain a very long piece.
