Looking for decent swimming pools in Dublin city centre (or d4/d6 area). Are the only pools worth talking about part of gyms?

There is a public swimming pool in Rathmines, across the road from the Aldi. However, I have experience of it, so I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has been there.

New pool opening in Trinity too, probably gym members only too though, not sure what public access they have decided is appropriate.

Markievicz on Townsend St is good but gets busy after work 5:30-7:30. I've been using it regularly for years.

rathmines pool isnt great to be honest. wen i moved to Dublin last summer id planned on going for a swim everyday cos it was only down the road from me...i went once! jackie skellys have a pool down from st.stephens green. but its membership only but their prices arent too bad...saying that i was on student rate! Markevich pool is ok..its clean at least but it can get very busy in the evenings and your literally fighting for space to swim!

jackie skelly website av a free pass voucher so you can try it out beofre you commit to anything :)

I haven't tried this one but I'd say it's good. It's in the old Mespil flats beside the Burlington.

Is the Enable Ireland pool in Sandymount still going? Used to be called CPI. I know the site was improved but I presume they kept the pool. It used to be open to the public.

Markevic is grand as long as you dont go at lunch or 6 o clock.

ESB/ Sportsco pool is in d4 and is quite nice. Havent been there in a swimming capactiy in a few years just as a volunteer for events so not sure what the membership situation is..

EDIT- sorry just found the actual website there. Think its members only however €220 for the year aint that bad...

New Jackie Skelly on Shelbourne Road has a pool, haven't been and guess it might be €€€. http://www.jackieskellyfitness.com/

Other option is the Marian College pool, just behind Lansdowne Road dart station. A little old,but well kept.
